You can now add the script of a film or episode by providing a link to a (external) PDF. Consult the Wiki for more info.
An increasing number of information can be added to the OFDb, mainly to films and TV shows (as the more complex content types). This is very much the goal, but also left me thinking, whether the front-end might need some rework. For instance, I’m not convinced anymore that all the icons are good UI/UX practise. Is a wallet really saying “sales agent”, or does the piggy bank icon stand for the budget or rather the revenue? Most likely, text is much better.
In addition, it could be useful not to display all available information right away. Most users probably just want to see the cast and crew of their favourite movie, or browse through certain genres to get inspiration, what to watch next. But a list of 10 VFX companies that worked on a specific TV show might bore them, and makes it more difficult to find the information that is relevant to them. Maybe users should be able to toggle between “basic information” and “full view”, and find a website tailored more to their liking.
I don’t really have a concept yet regarding a “renewed” front-end, but it’s something I want to tackle in the future.
